STUDENT FEE    $1,500

This fee covers the cost of the I20, if needed, as well as issuance and cost of the I901 form, which activates the I20. The student fee is non-refundable. It must be paid either in cash or with a cashier's check. The student fee is not necessary if the student already has an active I20 and is transferring from another school in the United States

REGISTRATION    $150

This fee is per student and is non-refundable. This is used for several things in the enrollment process including the membership in the Michigan Association of Christian Schools and school insurance. This fee is to be paid upon submission of the enrollment application.

The student fee ($1,500) and registration fee ($150) are due before an I20 can be issued.

TUITION    $5,500

Tuition covers the operating expenses of RHCS. Since the school receives no federal , state, or local financial subsidies, we rely upon prompt tuition payments for all students.

ELEMENTARY MATRICULATION    $200

Matriculation is for kindergarten through sixth grade and covers the cost of books and standardized testing with scores provided for the parents.

MISCELLANEOUS EXPENSES    $850

These are the estimated costs of books, camp, field trips, sports, and Fine Arts. The final amount will depend on what classes are taken and the areas in which the student participates. Elementary students (1st through 6th) are exempt from this fee.

The total of the entire tuition and miscellaneous expenses ($6,350 for 7th-12th grade, $5,700 for K-6th) is due on or before the student begins school. The administration cannot allow a student to attend classes if the entire amount is not paid.

GENERAL INFORMATION

We have been approved for accepting international students since 2008. Our students are offered art, computer, music, band, library, choir, physical education and a full array of sports for grades 6-12. In order for us to consider acceptance of an international student and issue an I20 we require the following information:

1. Student's full name (as it will appear on the passport)
2. Date of birth and gender
3. Country of birth, City of birth, Country of citizenship
4. Foreign address
5. United States address (address of the host family)
6. Current official bank statement with the total given in US denomination equal to or exceeding the amount of tuition for the school term
7. A SLEP score proving English proficiency (You may contact the school to inquire what score is necessary for the grade level; however, the school will not consider accepting a student for any grade with a SLEP score below 30.)
8. A recent report card with grades listed. If the report card is not in English, please have an English interpretation or explanation along with it.
9. Basic reading and writing of English is a requirement for attendance

DRESS CODE

CLASSROOM ATTIRE

Believing that our outward appearance is a reflection of our heart and mind, the Rochester Hills Christian School does expect all students to exercise good taste and judgment in their dress at all times. Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Scripture establishes at least three principles of personal appearance. Each area has a bearing on the establishment of this dress code. Those principles include modesty, distinction, and identification. The Bible clearly teaches us to dress modestly and moderately. A Christian’s lifestyle is not characterized by extremes or ever-changing fads. Scripture also has much to say about distinction between the sexes. We also believe that Scripture teaches that we are to always identify with the Lord and with Godly living over the ever-present pressure to fit in with worldly standards of conduct and appearance. For these reasons Rochester Hills Christian School has put forth the following dress code to be adhered to during school hours and at all school activities.

GIRLS’ CODE

1. Hair must be clean and styled neatly. All hairdos must be in good taste and are not to reflect “worldly styles” or present fads.
2. Clothing should fit comfortably, not tightly. Necklines must be modest at all times. No clothing with the name Abercrombie visible may be worn.
3. Blouses are to be modest and may have only the top button (neck area) undone. No “tee shirt” blouse with words or pictures across the chest will be allowed in grades 6–12. (A small logo printed on the side is acceptable). Sweatshirts in secondary are not permitted. Tops designed to be tucked in must be tucked in. Girls’ tops must have sleeves. Tops must be long enough to cover the body at all times, including when girls raise their arms, sit, and bend over. Tops are not to be form fitting or low or designed or have trim in such a way as to accent the bust line. The layered look is acceptable, but the top layer must be at least to the natural waist.
4. Skirts and dresses are the appropriate dress for classroom wear. All skirts or dresses must be modest in appearance and length. Dress length for grades 7-12 must come to the bottom of the knee and should not “ride” up the leg when sitting. Slits are not allowed to be higher than the bottom of the knee, even if pinned. For 6^th grade and below, dress length must be to the middle of the knee or longer. Slits are not allowed to be higher than the middle of the knee, even if pinned. No slacks or form fitting skirts or dresses. Front slits for all young ladies must be modest when seated and not open above the knee. Denim skirts must be dressy looking and not be partially faded, looking or raveled.
5. Young ladies are asked to wear some type of “stocking” for class wear. No high heeled or platform shoes, make-up or excessive jewelry is allowed in grades 1-6.
6. Regular dress shoes are required. No tennis shoes or athletic shoes are allowed in grades 7-12.lementary girls are allowed to wear tennis shoes or dress shoes. No flip flops are allowed.
7. If dress code is not met, it may become necessary to send the student home.

Our young ladies are to be examples of Christian character and of femininity.

BOYS’ CODE

1. Hair must be styled in good taste. Boys are not to color their hair. Hair must be off the eye-brows, ears and collar. Hair is to be tapered in the back, with the sideburns no longer than mid-ear. At times it is necessary to "thin" the hair so that it may be kept within guidelines as stated. No "lines", "designs", "preppy cuts", or "spiked" hair is permitted on boys. No shaving of heads completely or partially is allowed. Regular or normal haircuts are the required guidelines. If there should be any questions, the administrator will clarify any problems. If hair code is not met, it may become necessary to send a student home until the hair standard is met. Young men are to be clean shaven, also.

3. Boys are to wear slacks. They are to be neat and fit modestly. Grades 7-12 boys' slacks are not to have more than four pockets. Dress slacks, cords, and classic docker style pants will be allowed. Grades K-6 boys may wear colored jeans, cords, or dress pants. Elementary boys must wear belts if the pants have belt loops. Grades 7-12 boys must wear belts. Slacks are not to be baggy or oversized and must be worn at the waist. No camouflage pants or sweat-pants are to be worn for classroom wear. Elementary boys may wear blue jeans on their P.E. day.
4. Shirts are to be fully buttoned, but collars may be open. Turtlenecks are allowed. Boys through third grade may wear dressy un-collared shirts, but not T-shirts. Boys, 4-12, are to wear collared shirts and to keep them tucked in at all times. Sweatshirts are not permitted for 7-12th grades. If a sweater is worn, a collared shirt or turtleneck must be worn.
5. For grades 7-12, appropriate dress shoes and socks are to be worn at all times. Shoes must be solid black or solid brown. Tennis shoes are permitted for P.E. class only. No sandals, please. For grades K-6^th, tennis shoes are permitted. Socks are required. No sandals, please.
6. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, multiple rings, or traditionally feminine jewelry are not to be worn at school or any school function.
7. No hats are to be worn in the building.
8. Grades 7-12 boys’ chapel dress is a dress shirt and tie.
9. If dress code is not met, it may become necessary to send the student home.

Our young men are to be examples of Christian character and masculinity.

CASUAL DRESS

The school will request the withdrawal of any student who does not fit into the spirit of the school or who consistently and habitually disregards the policies and rules of the school.
