Spanish I
Introduction and development of basic listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. Grammar and structure include present and preterite tense verbs, irregulars, reflexives, and familiar command forms. Topics include basics, school, family, seasons, weather, entertainment, food, sports, hobbies, feelings, health, shopping, and travel. Quarterly Spanish Bible memory passage. Students will write a letter to a foreign missionary. Verbal, comprehensive final examination.


Spanish II
Review of basic skills with introduction of intermediate level grammar and vocabulary. Verb forms include preterite, imperfect, subjunctive, present perfect, future and formal commands. Themes include the outdoors, Hispanic family life, rural life, city life, homes, art, Native American culture in Latin America, and Hispanic celebrations. Quarterly Spanish Bible memory passage.
