ARRIVING AT SCHOOL

Students arriving at school should be taken to the south side of the building and be dropped off under the canopy.  They then enter the main school entrance.  Secondary students who drive to school must enter the north parking lot and park next to the ditch.  They are to enter the back school doors.  Please do not park your car beside the building.  All parked cars must be in a parking space.


LEAVING SCHOOL

Student pick up will take place in the south parking lot.  Parents may arrive and park in the south parking lot.  The lot will be closed at 3:15, and the students will be dismissed.  Cars entering after 3:15 will line up in the driveway and wait to be admitted to the lot.  There will be no cars moving while students are in the lot.  A traffic director will dismiss traffic at approximately 3:20.  For the safety of our students and for courtesy to drivers, no children will be allowed to leave the building even with a parent while the cars are being dismissed.  People walking in the lot hinder the flow of traffic.  After the lot is dismissed, the late cars will be allowed to enter the parking lot.  Please do not park your car beside the building.  All parked cars must be parked in a parking space. Students will then be dismissed for the second dismissal which will follow the same procedure as the first dismissal.  Remaining children will be sent to the late room.  Thank you for your patience.  If everyone follows procedure, the lot can be cleared in 10-15 minutes.


ADDITIONAL NOTE

Please do not ask your children to come to the north lot for pick up.  Employees’ children and students who drive to school exit the north lot as their cars are parked there.  The students are told of the pick-up procedure so please use the parking lot as an example of showing your children that it is important to obey the rules.  Also, after the first week of school we are asking parents to wait in the parking lot or outside the dismissal doors, not the classroom doors, for their children.  If you need to see your child’s teacher after school, please wait until after parking lot dismissal to enter the building.  If you have other school business in the offices, please come early so that you can return to your car by dismissal time as our halls are narrow and become very congested at dismissal time.  If all parents follow the dismissal procedure, our dismissal will go much smoother.
